Alfredo Ledesma (Peru)

He studied Psychology & Fine Arts at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He belongs to the third generation of a Peruvian artisan silversmith family. His first contact with creating was through his grandmother. She showed him how to use various tools as medium to transmit a conception of life based on Andean cosmovision: the search for harmony with an orientation through nature.

Ledesma explores the limits between sculpture and space, and also the landscape that surrounds him. His artworks are characterized by the use and interpretation of symbols stemming from pre-Colombian iconography. This re-interpretation of the symbols includes political, religious, and philosophical discourses.
